Trust In The Lord

Jesus said, ‘The sin of this world is unbelief in me.’ And faith, I’ve said before, is in my feet, not in my head. I remember seeing this in action in a very simple way some years ago.

There was this young girl of eleven, dying of leukemia. Her Dad came with her to a Dublin hospital and stayed with her day after day, week after week. There was nothing that he wouldn’t do for her. I would never have to tell her that her Daddy loved her. She could see that for herself every day.

Then, because she knew and was convinced that her Daddy loved her, she trusted him totally. Because that’s all faith is. Faith is a response to love. Because she trusted her Daddy totally she obeyed him completely, because he would never ever ask her to do anything that was not for her good. And because she trusted him, she was not afraid, because he was there and she knew he was still going to be there tomorrow.

That represented in simple fashion, what I think God’s original plan was. When that plan got messed up, god said, ‘Look, I’m going to give you a Spirit of truth, who will bring you back out of those lies, back into truth and back to the garden. Back to the hug of the Father who’s waiting for you.’ Satan is a liar, the father of lies.
